PEDIATRIC FOOT CARE FROM MECHANICSBURG, PA

Teach your children how to care for their feet.

Good foot and ankle care should begin early in life. The foot is the foundation that supports the entire body, and it is important that it be taken care of properly. Make sure that your children know that they should wear shoes that are flexible and pliable. Walking patterns can be a telling sign of foot problems, so be sure to monitor your children's walking patterns.

Your history.

A parent's history can be a clue as to whether or not a child will have problems with their feet. If you had problems with your feet as a child, your child is likely to have problems as well.

Take your child to see a doctor at the first sign of a problem.

If your child has recurring foot pain, this is not normal. You should not ignore this. It is important to get your child's foot looked at if they show signs of pain, flat feet, plantar's warts or bunions.
